The BrightDrop offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The E-Transit doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the BrightDrop has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Braking automatically engages the brakes to help avoid a collision. Ford charges extra for Cross Traffic Alert on the E-Transit and the E-Transit’s Cross Traffic Alert does not include automatic braking.

Both the BrightDrop and the E-Transit have standard driver’s frontal airbag, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems and rearview cameras.

For better traction, the BrightDrop has larger tires than the E-Transit (245/75R17 vs. 235/65R16).

For better load carrying, ride, handling and brake cooling the BrightDrop has standard 17-inch wheels. Only 16-inch wheels are available on the E-Transit.

The Chevrolet BrightDrop’s wheels have 8 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Ford E-Transit only has 6 wheel lugs per wheel.

The BrightDrop has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The E-Transit doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The BrightDrop uses a reverse-tilt hood for easier service access. The E-Transit uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

The BrightDrop has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The E-Transit doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The BrightDrop’s front power windows lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The E-Transit’s passenger windows don’t open automatically.

On a hot day the BrightDrop’s driver can lower the front windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the E-Transit can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The BrightDrop’s LED headlights produce a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using five times less power than the E-Transit’s standard halogen headlights. LED lights also light instantly and last over twenty times longer than halogen. The BrightDrop’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the E-Transit’s optional xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

The BrightDrop’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Ford charges extra for heated mirrors on the E-Transit.

The BrightDrop offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the E-Transit.

On extremely cold winter days, the BrightDrop’s standard heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up. The E-Transit doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The BrightDrop’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set, automatically controlling fan speed, vents and temperature to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The E-Transit doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.
